Shutters
Shutter Material
We offer three types of shutter materials to cater to your preferences and needs:
Wood Shutters Known as the gold standard, wood shutters are crafted from premium basswood for a timeless and durable solution. They offer the flexibility of being stainable, allowing you to customize the look to match your décor. While price per sq foot is higher, wood shutters are renowned for their long-lasting quality and classic elegance.
Poly Shutters Made from a heavier material than wood, poly shutters are smooth and durable(less cracking and color fading), making them an excellent choice for longevity. While they are less customizable (no staining) and on the heavier side which sometimes lead to sagging over time. Both poly and wood shutters typically last 10–20 years with proper care. Their clean, modern finish is ideal for many spaces
Hybrid Shutters (Energy Efficient) Combining the best of both worlds, hybrid shutters feature poly louvers and a wood frame for added strength and elegance. These shutters are not stainable but come with a major benefit—a $1,200 tax credit is available for their energy-efficient design.
Shutter Types
CENTER TILT ROD (CTR)
If you are looking for a more charming look, then the Traditional style tilt rod is the way to go. It can be elegantly placed in the center of your shutters. The Tilt Rod is used to adjust the louvers. Traditional style tilt rods are of excellent quality as they are securely fastened using machined staples to provide a robust addition to your shutters with which to open and close the louvers.
HIDDEN TILT BAR (HTB)
Hidden tilt bar are usually positioned on the backside of the panel, nearest the hinges. I am often asked how shutters are operated with hidden tilt and the answer is the same above, by grabbing the louvers. Over the years I have had less call backs or problems with hidden tilt because I have found that the first thing a child will grab and/or a pet will bite, is the center tilt bar.
